Self-guided “recipes” for wholeness

Below is a template to create your own “recipe(s)” for wholeness so you can bring more of it into your life. These are playful suggestions meant to inspire you to get creative and experiment. Use the chart as a jumping-off point for your own creativity and what feels good or appropriate to you. 

The purpose of offering starter “recipes” here is to spark new ways to bring wholeness into your life as a regular practice. By sharing some simple formulas to make that happen, the idea is to get you out of overthinking or heavy lifting, by putting you quickly on the path toward enjoying wholeness more easily, more often, without your having to figure out how to do that on your own.

If this feels silly or if you’re nervous to try it out, remember that what you decide “cook up” for yourself can stay between you and yourself. No one needs to know what you’re up to. The idea is irreverence and joy. Explore the boundaries. Experiment! To jump start your creativity, two suggested recipes representing different types of wholeness are below.

Feel free to customize or create your own measurements, ingredients, methods, and lengths, as you fancy, or according to the moment or occasion. Then, give your recipe a whirl and if you’re feeling it, let me know what happens!

Example:

Wholeness Custom Blend #1

1 cup Leave me alone

2 cups Rest

½ tsp IDGAF

Dash of Blissful ignorance

In a large saucepan, briefly stir Leave me alone and Rest together until combined. Toss in the IDGAF and top with the Blissful ignorance. Leave unattended for at least 2 hours, then check the mixture and if desired, continue to adjust to your taste, or continue to leave it unattended. Savor for as long as you determine necessary. The mixture will retain its potency for as long as a day, or longer, if desired. 

Wholeness Custom Blend #2

½ cup Gratitude

Pinch Surrender

1 cup Self-appreciation

2 tbsp Playfulness


In a deep baking pan, marinate Gratitude and Surrender for three minutes and up to an hour. In a separate dish, blend Self-appreciation with Playfulness until well-combined. When both mixtures are ready, fold together and serve immediately. Enjoy.
