What if you're waiting to earn what's already yours?
Recently, something happened in my group program that I keep thinking about.
A participant--smart, self-aware, someone who had done real inner work before coming to the program--named something she hadn't been able to name before. I won't put words to what it was for her. But I watched something shift.
Not dramatically. Quietly. The way things shift when a person finally sees a pattern they've been living inside of for so long it felt like air.
What she found wasn't new information. It was recognition.
That's often how it works.
Many of us carry an unspoken rule that receiving must be earned--and that earned means fully, demonstrably, completely. One more milestone. One more proof of worthiness. One more threshold crossed before it's finally appropriate to let good things in.
The trouble is, the threshold moves. It always has. That's not a personal failure. That's how earning loops are designed. They are endless by architecture, not by accident.
And underneath many of them--if you trace the thread far enough back--there is something older than your own experience.
A belief that arrived before you did. A vow, almost, that prosperity was conditional. That softening was risky. That asking for too much would cost something it wasn't safe to lose.
First-generation pattern breakers know this particular weight. You may have outpaced every ceiling your family set. And yet, something still hesitates at the door of receiving--even now, even after everything you've built.
You can see the pattern. And still find it difficult to stop.
That gap--between seeing and stopping--is not a willpower problem. It is where the real work lives.
The resolution will be different for each of us, so I won’t offer one here.
So I’ll simply ask a question, and I offer it with full respect for wherever you are in your journey:
What becomes possible when the earning “requirement” is removed?
Not when you've achieved enough to justify it. Not when you finally feel ready. Now. As you are.
You don't have to answer that today. But I'd invite you to let it stay open for a while and see what it surfaces.
